FAUST and Vexta: Nonconformism
Launched during NYC×DESIGN week in New York earlier this year, a new mural by celebrated artists FAUST and Vexta was painted on the wall of Ligne Roset’s New York flagship store on Park Avenue South. Utilizing each of their distinctive styles, the two painters collaborated to celebrate the message of nonconformism as part of the fiftieth anniversary of the Togo, Ligne Roset’s iconic furniture design. Here, the artists talk to the Quarterly’s Wyatt Allgeier about their aesthetics, scale, and the development of the project.

International Center of Photography: Love Songs
This summer, the International Center of Photography, New York, is presenting Love Songs: Photography and Intimacy. Featuring the work of sixteen contemporary photographers, the exhibition is a “remix” of an earlier iteration at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, organized by Simon Baker with curator Frédérique Dolivet and Pascal Hoël. The curator for the New York presentation, Sara Raza, met with one of the participating artists, Aikaterini Gegisian, and the Quarterly’s Wyatt Allgeier to discuss the distinctions between the two shows and the importance of—and complexities around—visual pleasure.

Cristián Mohaded: Apacheta
Argentinian designer and artist Cristián Mohaded has been collaborating with Loro Piana Interiors to produce an installation and collection of furniture pieces inspired by apachetas, piles of stones that mark paths and passes in the Andes. Debuting during Salone del Mobile Milano 2023 inside the Cortile della Seta, at Loro Piana’s Milanese headquarters—where it will be on view from April 20 to 23—the project will encourage visitors to reflect on travel, materiality, and the relationship between humans and the earth. Mohaded met with the Quarterly’s Wyatt Allgeier in the weeks leading up to the unveiling to discuss Apacheta.

Incontri: Paolo Roversi and Poliform
Poliform, an Italian furniture brand, has launched a communication project called Incontri that aims to broaden the company’s reach to new forms of expression. In the first chapter of the project, Poliform collaborated with Paolo Roversi, a renowned contemporary photographer, to create a series of photographs showcasing the souls of both design objects and human subjects. Here, Poliform CEO Giovanni Anzani speaks with the Quarterly’s Wyatt Allgeier about the partnership.

Red, White, Yellow, and Black: 1972–73
In December 1972 and April 1973, Shigeko Kubota, Mary Lucier, Cecilia Sandoval, and Charlotte Warren conceived of “multimedia concerts” at The Kitchen, New York, under the name Red, White, Yellow, and Black. Robert Mapplethorpe’s Jewelry: Gaia Repossi and Michael Ward Stout
As part of an ongoing collaboration, Gaia Repossi, creative director for the Paris jewelry house Repossi, has created a collection of pieces inspired by Robert Mapplethorpe’s art practice and jewelry. Speaking with Michael Ward Stout, president of the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, and the Quarterly’s Wyatt Allgeier, Repossi recounts the origins of this project and details her deep admiration for the artist’s precision and eye for composition.

Fashion and Art: La Galerie Dior
As part of the renovation of the Dior flagship at 30 Montaigne, Paris, the brand has added a permanent space, La Galerie Dior, for the exhibition of archival documentation and clothing from the house’s history.
